And just another person who agrees here. Plus James, I agree that the UI should never know about the DAL. The BL should be the only thing the UI talks to and is how the business logic controls what is and isn't changed or saved. You are right and I don't understand how an example of nTier could show you anything different.

I believe that MS's creation of the TableAdapters in .NET 2.0 was a big mistake. Others may disagree, but I'm pretty sure that the majority of experienced developers will agree with me on this one.
