I got a regular SQL Server 2008 Developer DVD. When I called back and after talking to someone else, who "seem" to look for more detailed information told me that what I bought is all they have in DVD version. So Amazon has the same thing. I suppose you can only download R2 from the web. But I will never buy anything from MS store.

Thanks for clarification, Dmitry. It was not for me, luckily I already have it installed. It was a question on MSDN I tried to help with the answer. Looks like the only available option is to download through MSDN/TechNet.
