I've seen this behavior, also. We also use command buttons with icons on them and sometimes they do the same thing. Also, when this happens, you can pass the mouse over the same button or the 'X' and they will "depress" again. You still have to click it again for the button to fire, though. If you find out what's happening here, please let me know, too.
