It depends on what exactly do you want? If you want to get data using SQL Server as a starting point (get VFP data), then yes.

If you want to push your data from VFP to SQL Server and will not need to import your data from SQL Server, then you can keep SQL Server 64 bit.

Say, I have SQL Server 64 bit installed and I send data from VFP back and forth without a problem. I do not need, luckily, to import VFP data from SQL Server without having VFP installed.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
