>Given that Philly and Atlanta have been close for about a month now, that game could decide the NL East title (or lead to a one-game tiebreaker) and possibly even best overall NL record.

>In the last 3 Philly NL East title runs, they benefited from 2 NY Met meltdowns in 2007 and 2008, and no serious competition last year. Atlanta is for real, and the NL East will likely go down to the final day.

Wasn't my idea. Although, Doc had the right to refuse any trade, but he really seemed to want to go to Philadelphia if they could work it out. I think he really liked Toronto, but he wanted desperately to pitch in the post season and the Jays were looking at a 10 year rebuilding plan (although it seems to be happening faster than they expected). Their wants were incompatible.

It tells you what kind of a classy guy he is when you realize that not one Blue Jays fan I've ever heard of wants Doc to fail (unlike a few others who have left for greener pastures). Everybody here is rooting for him.
