Mike, I've never served in the military. But I know several who have (some of whom aren't exactly thrilled with Bush and the Iraqi war). All of them say the same thing - that this is conspiracy BS. No one wants to acknowledge the truth, that in combat things are ugly and messy and innocent people are slaughtered.

I will acknowledge one thing - it was wrong to try to cover up what happened.

Here's one...in Germany during WWII - German soldiers stole U.S. uniforms and tried to infiltrate U.S. ranks (not exactly a new ploy). Some managed to kill Americans....and sometimes they were caught and we shot the bastards in the head. The idea that the enemy might have stolen a weapon and shot Tillman point-blank (to make it look like Americans killed him) is no less plausible than your conspiracy theory.

Fortunately for you, the internet means that anyone with a cable modem and a computer can go online and post foolish theories, with no accountability.
