Hello John,
no I don't have access to SQL server, unfortunately until VFP suuports ADO fully ( or will we forced to bind recordsets to grids using VB ) I can't devote too much time to it as I can't justify it ( I've tried telling them it's interesting but it went down like a lead balloon ) thanks again for your help

>As far as the second example goes - do you have access to SQL Server? I think that is the only provider that will return multiple recordsets. You cannot use the ODBC OLE-DB Provider for this. My guess is that may be your problem..

>>thanks for your time and code, The first example runs a treat after modifying >the Open method to oConnect.Open('mynwind') as I don't have the Jet driver >installed, the second example returns a "General Network Error" - "Check your >Server Documentation" this occurs when the connection objects' Open method is >called. By the way I'm still using VFP 5.0a ( have ordered 6 ) is this a >problem?
