>>>I was just driving home, passing a woodsy area near here, when a fox ran across the road not 25 yards in front of me. Despite the occasional woods, this is suburbia. In 20 years of living in Chicago and suburbs this is the first fox I have seen. It darted off into the woods.

>>How's the c# going? Have you fired up your Strataframe ? I'm loving it, but looking around for another good VFP - .NET conversion project to really sink my teeth into. It is very cool to have more power to apply to a business problem. If I could get my biggest VFP client to finally get off the dime on the conversion that would be heaven.

>C# and the .NET framework are coming back to me. I like StrataFrame but it is on the back burner until someone wants me to do some custom development for them. My independent work has mostly been corporate stuff. My next step (in addition to looking for work, which is ongoing) is going to be writing a non-trivial .NET app from scratch, using data from the Northwind database. My thought is this might offset my lack of .NET work experience. What I have not decided is whether to do it desktop / WPF or web / ASP.NET. Probably the latter because that seems more in demand and it will give me a chance to work with MVC.

Check out the TekPub MVC videos. They're great. I'd also recommend trying to find an opportunity to learn an ORM like NHibernate or Entity Framework. TekPub has videos for each.
