I should have that tablet computer you're referring ;-) to in the beginning of november. Hi, Denis,
That's assuming they don't push back the ship date again. :)
I looked at the information that's available on the ExoPC - it certainly looked interesting. But the advertised battery life of 4 hours was a concern. (The iPad gives about 9-10)
The 2 GB of memory and the Windows Home Premium O.S. might tempt developers to put Visual Studio and/or SQL Server on it. I wouldn't be surprised if a % of them wind up disappointed with the results if they try to use it as a replacement for their laptop (see comments below). Also, it means the user will need to put some kind of anti-virus/malware product on.
In the last month, I read reviews of different Android tablets that were a fraction of the price of an iPad. The reviews were largely negative - major issues with the touch screen, the wireless capability, and just overall complaints about the quality. We'll see if this one can rise above that.
I've seen a few reviews from people who managed to get a prototpe of the ExoPC, and the reviews all seem pretty positive. But there are some other news pieces that make me wonder. For instance, GPS won't be their 64-bit version (they admitted they couldn't get it to work...obviously, not a major issue). Second. the pricing (if I read correctly) is a few dollars more than the iPad. Third, some of the online press clippings are calling this a "replacement" for a laptop - well, I suppose that depends on what type of laptop you had in the first place.
I'm not trying to put down the ExoPC - I'll be curious to see the reviews when this product ships. Of all the products about to be released, this is one of the more interesting ones.
