That's at least 4 hours of true battery live unlike others that advertise more while the unit sits there doing little. The two guys who have the prototypes claim 5+ depending on what they're doing with it. From what I understand, the iPad has higher life because it isn't doing as much (i.e., multitasking). I expect to see that 10hours drop when Apple adds multitasking.

But you're getting more in terms of hardware and an OS.


Third, some of the online press clippings are calling this a "replacement" for a laptop - well, I suppose that depends on what type of laptop you had in the first place.


I've heard it called a "sub-notebook". i.e., better than a netbook, but, not quite a modern notebook. Netbooks were ok to me but this is even better.

I agree. Engadget is supposed to be getting the very first production ExoPC this Friday. I'd like to see what they have to say about it now.
