Only 8 bucks? That's more than I carry. :)

OK, thanks everyone for playing.

Roughly half, maybe a few more than half, are carrying around more than what I'd call "pocket change" (i.e. anything more than 10 dollars).

I have a friend who good-naturedly busts my chops because I almost never have more than a few bucks in cash on me.

I once had my wallet stolen and another time I lost it (very long story), and both times had over $150 on me. So I never carry any significant cash on me. If my wallet is gone, I can call my card company and cancel any ATM purchases, and I don't owe a dime (not more than $50, but rather nothing at all). I've always figured that with card readers all over the place, there's just no reason to carry cash.

In the last year and a half, I've had more than a few dollars in my wallet maybe twice. Once was for a Labor Day fair in Harrisburg where most vendors only take cash, and the other was when I took my wife's youngest brother to the ballet on his 21st birthday (since a "danse de genoux" goes for $40 in cash)

I've always assumed others were as paranoid as I am. I guess not.

Of course, when Katy gets older, I'll have to start carrying cash around.
