>We started at PNB and stuck with it up to Wachovia. Then they made us mad (don't remember how any more) and we left. A lot of our banking is now with small local institutions (and, in fact, Marshal's on the board of a newish bank, so we're doing a lot of our banking there, of course).

>A few years ago my wife and I looked at the pros-cons of going to a local bank, but there were just too many reasons to stay with Wachovia. I have a "one-size fits all" card with 100% protection if I lose it, I have a great overdraft (if I ever need it), and anytime I deposit a client check, all the funds (not just the first 2K, but all of it) is available the next business day.

What do you mean by "great overdraft"? When they honor the transaction and charge you a $30-40 fee? Under pressure from Congress, most of the largest banks have now made that an option, with no overdraft protection the default.
