Joan Osborne "What If God Was One Of Us"? Great song.

I saw "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" and liked it too. Most sidemen don't get nearly the attention they deserve, black or white.

>>>How about documentaries. Here's one I'll bet most people have never seen, but should:

>>I saw that one, it was really great. I used to be a DJ at some local discotheques in the 1970's, so this documentary is a MUST for me.

>I was never a DJ, but this movie is truly a gem amongst the paste. It's a joyous movie, but at the same time, it's a very sad commentary on how those guys were treated. Imagine Jamerson having to buy his own ticket just to sit in the nosebleed section. How crappy is that?! I loved this doc. I've watched it probably a half dozen times now , and I say that even with the inclusion of Bootsy Collins (for some ungodly reason) in the mix.

>Joan Osborne's rendition of "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" is worth the price of admission.
