I think my real point here was that in many organizations that need an app written, someone on-staff, usually inexperienced, will tend to choose VB as the platform, and the resultant code is a mess. However, your point is well-taken - the bad code isn't the fault of VB.

I sometimes do support coding for a company with a product in FoxDos that sells for $100,000-150,000, and the code is the worst I've ever seen - which is not the fault of FoxDOS.

SQL statements with -lots- of macros and IIFs, sometimes the IIFs are imdedded 6 or 7 levels deep. The macros have meaningful variables names like XX, XX1, XX2. Sometimes there are 5-10 such SQL statements in a row. Just a joy to debug...
