No matter what I do, no go. I am looking at the SQL Server Configuration Manager again to see if I missed something there. From the services running I see that I have more that one SQL Server:
SQL2008
SQLEXPRESS
MSSQLSERVER

And in the configuration manager I have several items:
SQL Server network Configuration (32) bit
-> Protocols for SQLEXPRESS - I have not enabled TCP/IP there
SQL Server Network Configuration
-> Protocols for MSSQLSERVER - I enabled TCP/IP
-> Protocols for SQL2008 - I enabled TCIP/IP
SQL Native Client 10.0 Configuration
- I have not changed anything there.
