>>OIC. Have you read any of the recent pronouncements from Microsoft about it? They left some developers concerned about the long term commitment. Even the "what I actually meant to say" clarification from Bob Muglia sounded like MS may think of it as a solution for phones.

>Have you seen the over-abundance of Windows 7 phone ads in tv programs? I'm not referring to commercials during commercial breaks. I mean advertising inside the storyline. It's always been the case that sponsors get their products viewed (usually Mac laptops :o), but these are more in your face ads. They are obnoxious because so far in every case the script seems to have been modified to get the phone (including fake screen shots) in... Saw it in Bones and Castle recently... and another show but can't recall...Terriers maybe?

>So far instead of calling someone, they text and the show makes a big (obvious) deal of displaying the interface on the phone while they do it. They even have to slip in comments like "I texted the information to...." etc and on Bones in the middle of an interview with a subject, she received a text message and they showed the interface and the message, etc in the show as a part of the script.

That is so obnoxious. That would motivate me to NOT buy or use the product. I don't watch enough TV to have been annoyed by it yet. All I watch is "Dexter", which is commercial free, and some football. I almost always record ballgames and start watching half an hour or 45 minutes in, fast forwarding through the commercials.
