>>>The idea of censorship doesn't worry you more? Maybe the U.S. should just start imprisoning them like China? I'd rather see a disclaimer: "This show does not represent the views of the station and is opinionated entertainment not meant to be mistaken for news."
>>
>>And add to the disclaimer "and anyone with an IQ around room-temperature that can't tell the difference, please switch to the Cartoon Network and remember to stay home on election day ... "

>>Sen. Rockefeller aspires to be Teddy Kennedy-light and in the aspect of inheriting importance that far exceeds his gifts that is probably true. His performance as chairman of the Intelligence Committee makes him the Keith Olbermann of the Senate. *Really* out of his depth.

>Believe it or not, I am not a Keith Olbermann fan. (Actually I did like him when he was young, irreverent, and on SportsCenter. "It's deep and I don't think it's playable.") But I don't like liberal windbags any more than conservative ones. It was kind of funny seeing him suspended from MSNBC for making campaign contributions, in violation of his contract. And boy did they show him! <g> -- how long was he off the air, two days?

I too enjoyed him as a sports guy. I don't think I'd care for him much personally for the same reason I wouldn't want to be in the same room with Glen Beck. But I don't take either of them seriously.

I actually had no problem with his political donations. I can't imagine anyone sees him or Beck or Matthews or Hannity as news guys. They are pundits and their biases are not secret so let them put their considerable money where their considerable mouths are <g>

There are some real news guys at both MSNBC and Fox and the actual news on both channels is reasonable - though decisions about which stories get the emphasis reflect their leanings, as it does in newspapers etc. I can usually watch either one without throwing things at the screen ... usually.

( unlike the guy who shot his television last week over Bristol Palin still being on DWTS. <s> )

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
