"obsolete database management systems are still alive and well"..yeah, and this product is a NEW, just released product replacing a DOS Clipper product.

VFP3 developers still have work to do...of course, and in about 60 minutes they/we could be up-to-speed in VFP 5.0 and I would assume 6.0 too. And therefore using a non-obsolete product. I haven't worked in 6 yet, but found that going from 3 to 5 is no big deal.

I don't have to do anything in Paradox. We have this product and we would like to access the data. The problem that I have now is that the DB files contain a password.

Does anyone know how to hack a DB file's password protection?

Thanks.

>Yes, these are Paradox files. The .DB file is analgous to the .DBF file, .PX file is the primary index (like .IDX, since Paradox does not have compound index files like our .CDX). I'm not sure what .XG0 and .YG0 are for.

>As an aside, this is yet more proof that obsolete database management systems are still alive and well. FPD, FPW, and VFP3 developers, there's still work for you to do, so don't give up hope.
