Hi Mike

Check http://www.emoreau.com/Entries/Articles/2009/09/Microsoft-SQL-Server-2008--The-FileStream-feature.aspx

I don't know if it supports encryption but since it can be in a folder not visible to any user, I didn't need this feature. If you find the files on the disk and can figure which one is the good, yes it can be opened from the disk directly (but again you don't normally have access to this folder).

>Hello,
>Just wondering if anybody is using the new FILESTREAM features in SQL Server 2008. Currently I am storing the path to a file in my DB table, but this is getting to be a pain because I still have to manually locate/open the file and deal with secure storage of the file. It seems like FILESTREAM would be a great fit for my requirements.
