>Wow... No wonder you're smiling in your picture! At 24, I had just gotten married and had 3 years of college ahead of me.

I'm sorry, I lied. I just turned 25. Looking back on my post, I realized I should have proofread. Woops.
>What are rates for a VFP programmer? I realize that's going to vary widely by region and experience, but just generally, for someone with about a year of experience?
Anyone who will only pay you according to years of experience needs a course in resource selection. I have worked with programmers having 10-15 years experience, lots of it in Fox, who weren't worth the $40/hour they were getting. On the other hand, I have met 19 yr olds who were worth every penny of $100/hr. In general, it varies widely with location, skillset, experience and terms of contract. On the extremely low side, $25/hr, and on the high side there are fox guys charging 1600$/day. I started my quest asking $50/hr, but am charging more now.

I found my schooling extremely useful (Batchelor's MIS). I only wish I knew then what I know now, I would have had 4.0. I could
teach most of those IS classes now.
