>I'm sorry, I lied. I just turned 25. Looking back on my post, I realized I should have proofread. Woops.

Well, happy 25th. :)

>Anyone who will only pay you according to years of experience needs a course in resource selection. I have worked with programmers having 10-15 years experience, lots of it in Fox, who weren't worth the $40/hour they were getting. On the other hand, I have met 19 yr olds who were worth every penny of $100/hr. In general, it varies widely with location, skillset, experience and terms of contract. On the extremely low side, $25/hr, and on the high side there are fox guys charging 1600$/day. I started my quest asking $50/hr, but am charging more now.

That extremely low side is twice what I make now. But then, you're not guarranteed 40 hour weeks, 52 weeks a year, either.

>I found my schooling extremely useful (Batchelor's MIS). I only wish I knew then what I know now, I would have had 4.0. I could teach most of those IS classes now.

Seriously or sarcastically? I found my schooling to be a waste of time. I think a degree is overrated. 6 years as an apprentice programmer would have done me far more good than 6 years of college.
