Hi everybody,

I have a SQL Server table with a Text field (we're still supporting SQL 2000). Using SPT I get the record to the form and then make it updatable using a technique specified by Vlad G in the UT FAQ.

The question field is displayed using an editbox and linked to a memo field in the cursor.

I only view the record, don't change anything. Yet GetFldState(-1) reports 2 for the Question field and therefore the useless UPDATE command is issued.

Do you know if possible to prevent this problem or I have to change the RecordChanged method? I'm also wondering if we have this problem on a bigger scale than this particular form only (where I noticed it) and have been performing unnecessary updates not realizing it.
