>>Hi,

>>I was using my PC earlier today on a wireless network (at home) without any problems. I came in the office and plug in my cat5 cable but the network icon says unplugged. I tested the network cable on another computer in the office (on which I am typing now) and it works. But when I plug it into my " other" pc it does not work. In the Control Panel -> Networking, the network card does not seem to have any problems. That is, it says, "working properly"

>>What else can I do to troubleshoot this issue? Maybe related or maybe unrelated, also this morning the cordless keyboard does not communicate with the computer.

>Still have not solved the problem with the network card but came across another issue. When computer is plugged into the docking station (which I always use in the office), the sound no longer goes to the speakers of the monitor. There is a cable from the sound output of the docking station to the input in the monitor but it does nothing. So, in addition to the network card not working, this is another issue.

When your laptop is plugged into the docking station, is the network cable still plugged into the laptop itself, or is it plugged into the docking station?
Some docking stations add significant devices/functionality to a laptop and require a set of device drivers to be installed on the laptop. Is that the case here - maybe something is wrong with those driver(s)?
