If you're really particular, I'm surprised you eat commercial burgers at all. They're generally limited to using 100% beef patties, which is a major limitation.

That said, I can recall having exactly 1 perfect burger in my adult life. It was at Earl's Tin Palace in North Van, I've had quite a few there and they normally rate about a 7/10 but for some reason on this particular day all the stars aligned:

- Sizzling hot, juicy patty
- Crisp, cold romaine lettuce
- Exquisitely ripe, luscious tomato ( rare at restaurants )
- Two thick slabs of mild onion
- All on a lightly toasted, fluffy sesame bun that was indistinguishable from fresh-baked

Agreed, that's a limitation, but burgers from Red Robin or even Ruby Tuesdays are still far better than most places.

I've had chances to go to Vancouver before but never made it out there. What you described sounds good...except for the tomato. I'll vote Democrat before I eat a tomato (a certain forum member is rolling their eyes right now)
