It will not kill it or even slow new development or ways of using it! Why? Because of the VFP runtimes. I can get a copy of ActiveVFP from CodePlex, write a complete vfp web app using nothing more than notepad and existing code/examples, and host it on the cloud at GoDaddy. And guess what? I never had to spend a dime on the original VFP to do it! And yes, it's legal.
