>>Just a few? That sounds like 5 or 10, at the most. And 'my own money' sounds like a company losing money. I hope you have some ideas about what can be done when you are no longer able to keep it rolling.

>Yes, that is what I did since the last four years. I put my own money into the site to keep it running. Basically, I would end up with more money at the end of the year if the site would be close now. But, that will not happen. I have loyal customers who have been there since day one, some others for several years and newcomers as well since then. I will do whatever I can to keep it running for as long as people will need it.

>So, this site runs on subscriptions, as for its main source of revenues. Basically, there aren't additional ones right now as members of the site wanted to have a publicity free environment site, known as a "clean site". So, I did. Also, there are practically no more VFP vendors paying to announce their products now and, as far as .NET vendors go, most of them do not know about this site and will only focus to put their advertisements where the sites are free. IAC, this is an old topic. It has been discussed before, many provided their ideas, but this is where it stands today. We have a good running, super fast, and clean Web site for a technical support engine as well as some related goodies such as the news engine. So, I try to keep the existant customers and have new ones from time to time.

>>I have the impression that your code still contains a bug, simple as that. If I enter a quoted string, then your program should not/never answer that digits, short words and the like are not permitted. It indicates that you pass the string to the wrong algorithm.

>You are correct. I adjusted the phrase to remove the last part. All the words should have at least three characters. Under that, it is not even included in the SQL Server search engine and 95% as those words are considered commonly used words and judged as useless to be included, by default, in the full text indexing. There are some fancy ways to include some exceptions. But, that is costly, will bloat the index file and will slow down the search engine.

>>I'm not asking for the moon. I'm asking for the exact search you promissed time and again and have failed to deliver sofar.

>The search for the exact phrase, and thanks to the help provided by Naomi and some others, have been fixed a few weeks ago. If I understand correctly, what you woud like to obtain, and what would be of benefit to all of us, would be the ability to support the usage of two letters or one letter words, which is something I cannot support presently. If I find a way at a later date, I will be sure to see about it and let you know.

>As for the number of subcribers, I believe I mentioned once that if, at least each member, would bring only one additional member on the site on a regular basis, in the next upcoming 12 months, than it would double up everything (traffic, messages, subcribers, just to name a few). I was lucky to have survived two financial crisis (9/11 and 2008) as well as the .com crash. Most that I know about running similar sites and related products online have been gone since long time. When the 9/11 happened, because the traffic was higher, I was able to recover to normal usage within about 18 months. But, the one of 2008, well, I am still suffering from it. Even close to three years later, many previous subscribers are still confirming they will and would like to renew but only when they will find a job and when their employer will be in a better shape, both situations referring to the financial crisis.

>Just so everyone knows, when time permits, I still enhance the site, try to simplify things, add new options and find new ways of bringing more people on board. But, when I ask people to give a little of their help, most of them are running away like hell. Just recently, I created that Facebook page for the site. I mentioned it several times in this site. I also suggested the page to many members to they can click Like and let their friends know about it, etc. You know how it works. Facebook has created a revolution and I am trying to use this free mechanism to get some attention. But, I am being very careful to do it in a clean way. That is why I am asking for some contributions/help from other members. But, as surprisingly as it gets, I still have only 31 persons who clicked Like on that page. I have regular members using this site who still haven't clicked Like yet. My assumption is that there are not realizing that this could help. So, if a member cannot bring at least one member on board in the next 12 months, do you think the same member could at least take one second to click on Like on Facebook? It is a good question. But, that is just one example.

>IAC, I welcome your feedback and I take the time to thank you again for time you take to write those messages, targeting surely at improving or helping me improve the product.

Frankly, I think it is now a different time and a different world. Subscription forums get left out of the .net world when the internet is filled with so many options. I think the subscription price is far too high given the economy in many places when other forums are free (granted those free forums are littered with advertisements). Business is business. It might pay off in the end to draw in a lot of new visitors if the site was completely free. Once you have a lot of vistiors to the site, the advertisers would come for .net and other tools. Once that happens, you can bring back the subscription as an option to remove the ads for those who subscribe.

This forum is my favorite interface. As I am here regularly, I'm sure you are aware of that already. :o)

From a developers POV though, if I am seriously in need of technical assistance, I need my question answered and I will go where-ever I can get responses - with or without advertisements. I, like others, prefer the clean site. However, when it comes to technical assistance, I will go where the answers are.
