Thanks for the offer. "Unfortunately" my daughter loves reading so much that we have no space for books in our home any longer, we are planning on an upgrade in the guest room this summer and one of the reasons is to get more book space for her... I have a very complete book antology from Borges in English (I read him in Spanish first, I never read the poems though) so I am covered, but I agree is not easy to warm up on him. I read most of Vargas Llosa earlier books but my favourite is "La guerra del fin del mundo" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_End_of_the_World, which coincidentally was the last one I read from him.
