You know that I'm not buffering expert, but when I open DE I see that even there's no option to set BufferMode for view to pessimistic. I didn't try CURSORSETPROP(), so I don't know will you get error or something else. Again, there is no reason (IMO) to set or try to set pessimistic buffering on view.
