I have had similar thoughts. Let's face it, though, Chatter is a lot more compelling on a human level than "Why is my Textbox background color always yellow when disabled?" I read the tech threads and pick up some knowledge, especially in the SQL Server and .NET sections. But it's Chatter that keeps me coming back.
