I think the difference is that currrently there's a difference between 'business' and 'personal' use of technology. I think that will change though and people will demand that they can get at the same features functionality they are used to on the desktop from their phone, a tablet, when they're travelling. It may very well be that your particular app does not have users like that, but most other applications do. When you talk in generalities many applications have with the ability to be accessible from anywhere would greatly gain usability.

Obviously this does not apply to all applications. Especially many document creation tools don't appreciably benefit from 'connected' or portable behavior, but most business applications especially can benefit from a connected environment.
