The other data point to consider is resolution: the Lenovo Ideapad A1 ($199) is 7" -- but is the same resolution as most 10" tablets, 1024x600 (as is the nook color -- the IPad2 is 1024 x 768). Combined with the easier handling, and it can be a "just right" combination, depending on your tolerance/preference for screen size. E.g., my 15.4" Dell Inspiron is 1680x1050 (bought it nearly 5 years ago). This is ideal for me, but too small for some folk: de gustibus and all that.

>>Well that really sucks. I would have no interest in that. 7" screen is the killer.

>give it a try for a week or so - while the smaller screen estate is bad on some sites,
>the ease of handling it always with one hand and the ability to put it in a vest pocket
>will only be felt if you handle it during the day. I was surprised how much difference
>a few grams make in the course of an H. Think pocketbook vs. extra size heavy book
>just for casual reading (devices with keyb for "non-casual" <g>)
