Definately - the first 7' I tried had 800*480, the first Galaxy Pad had also the 1024*600 - much better.
The new Galaxy 7.7 is roumored to have 1280*800, even the Note 5.3 seems to have that resolution.
IPhone4 high screen def is not the best by far anymore...

Overe here Apple stopped the Galaxy 10.1 sale by court because of look and feel similarity.
This is something were I hope Apple gets slapped down hard - the rounded edges are a safety measure,
to try to get look and feel reserved is ludicrous at best - IMHO the design was preempted by play-devices.
Has generated some bad press even in some normally pro-Cupertino circles, as some "design parameters"
are given as the flat screen surface by current technologies.

>The other data point to consider is resolution: the Lenovo Ideapad A1 ($199) is 7" -- but is the same resolution as most 10" tablets, 1024x600 (as is the nook color -- the IPad2 is 1024 x 768). Combined with the easier handling, and it can be a "just right" combination, depending on your tolerance/preference for screen size. E.g., my 15.4" Dell Inspiron is 1680x1050 (bought it nearly 5 years ago). This is ideal for me, but too small for some folk: de gustibus and all that.

>>>Well that really sucks. I would have no interest in that. 7" screen is the killer.

>>give it a try for a week or so - while the smaller screen estate is bad on some sites,
>>the ease of handling it always with one hand and the ability to put it in a vest pocket
>>will only be felt if you handle it during the day. I was surprised how much difference
>>a few grams make in the course of an H. Think pocketbook vs. extra size heavy book
>>just for casual reading (devices with keyb for "non-casual" <g>)
