OMG your're kidding right? You're argument is now that schools have little to do with educating someone?
I know lots of people with college degrees and 8th grade educations.
Then I'd say they went to a really crappy college - which either was not accredited or shouldn't be if it is.
You just don't get it do you? The quality of the institution has less to do with how well educated a student becomes that the student's willingness and ability to apply himself and be indoctrinated - er- I mean absorb what he is taught. Do you think that someone who graduates from Harvard with all D's is as well educated as some who graduates from Kent State with straight A's?
I was a shop teacher for a few years back in a previous life. And I can tell you from personal experience that, in many cases, it does not matter how good the school is or how good the teacher is. Ever hear the old adage "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink"? A teacher can teach, but it is up to the student to learn.
What you say is also very insulting to people who educate themselves. But, then, again, this is the typical elitest attitude that most liberals appear to have.
I didn't think I was being shallow??? Harvard > University of Idaho. Leader of Harvard Legal Review > B.S. degree in journalism. I don't consider that shallow - just a fact.
Well, I consider it shallow and elitest.
