You really seem stuck on the thought that everyone who receives government assistance is a lazy moocher. If you don't realize that many, many of the unemployed and underemployed would love to be doing a full time job you are out of touch IMO.

I had a contract with Invacare HCS until August 26th. They laid off a young woman who was working the phones at the end of August. A week later, when I stoppped at the drug store to pick up a prescription, there she was at the pharmacy counter. She told me the job was only part time but that it was a start. This young woman could just as easily sat on her butt collecting unemployment and food stamps. Instead she went out and found a job less than a week later even though it was only part time. Now here is someone who is not a lazy moocher....
