Yes, but if it weren't for European/British signing strange treaties and provoking each other, there would have been no World Wars in the first place. Can't blame the US for that- both times the American people tried to stay out of it. Personally I blame "Perfidious Albion" as the French used to call you and as Cheney recently called you.
;-) Sorry, couldn't resist. Easy enough to find something to pick at in every direction. For example, while it's popular to attribute WWII to the Germans, in fact that war was declared by - whom? Sure enough, you guessed it. Though if you consider time zone differences, the answer may be more startling than you think. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
