Years ago, I got a fortune cookie that said, "You have the ability to discern higher truth" That's come true many times.

A month ago, my group was re-orged. Some people were put on a team to rewrite the 20 year old C++ code using .NET MVC3. I was left on the old crappy code team. Essentially the new program would replace three different apps. I couldn't see them keeping all those people. One entire team was let go yesterday. One other person from the team I was on was let go. When we had the reorg, I called a headhunter, but didn't put a high priority. He was the first person I called when I left the office yesterday. But most my leads are coming from networking.
