You need to use the Transaction Coordinator, which is part of Windows Component Services (COM+). There is an article on my web site that explains how to use it.
http://www.craigberntson.com/papers.html>I have a client-server application which uses a local database on the local server in the office through LAN. The application also needs to update records to a web based SQL Server database.

The problem is at times the internet connection breaks and either the web database is not updated without the error getting reported (the local database gets updated) or if there is an error the application simply crashes without updating the local database too.
