The Hell's Angels were just traveling thru town and were not known in it, they just happened to pass thru there while heading to LA. There is also the rumor that the Schneider family were having a party in the same town and witnessed the event, but did nothing to help the nun as they strongly believed that all nun's decisions in her life inexorably lead her to this outcome and fully deserved to be in the position she was.
