I think what you are seeing are access and permissions under Windows 7 (as well as Vista). By default, non-administrator users cannot update anything under the Program Files folder. If you google "windows 7 program files access denied" you will find info on how to get around it. I realize you have worked around the problem but if you're going to be using Windows 7 this is an important concept to understand.

It surprises me that there was a problem having VFP5 itself installed there, as long as your project source code was elsewhere. I have VFP9 installed in the default location and don't run into this problem. Maybe it's because I have Administrator rights.
