>>>How about, now imagine you're an adult and your parents didn't get you vaccinated and you didn't get yourself vaccinated, if you so choose to do. If you don't - then your parents aren't the ones to get pissed at

>>Of course, you'd have to know that you weren't vaccinated. I wonder how many people here have their childhood vaccination records. (I sure don't, though I do still have my kids' vaccination records.)

>I know I had both the measles and the mumps. My mother was a nurse so don't think it was a matter of ignorance. Was there even a measles vaccine back then? I remember my daughters' pediatrician saying he was ambivalent about it because it is a relatively mild disease, a matter of a few days, which can be more serious later in life. (As can mumps).

I had German measles and chicken pox, but not measles and mumps. Pretty sure I was vaccinated for those. Guess it must have been after I had German measles, since that's a single vaccine (and I'm pretty has been for a long, long time).

I remember standing in line at the elementary school for the sugar cube polio vaccine, and I still have the scar from the smallpox vaccine.

I remember asking our pediatrician and being told that vaccinating my kids against smallpox would be malpractice; the disease was so unlikely that the risks were far higher than the benefits.
