Your comparison of Miles Davis or Tom Brady with politicians is unreasonable (I wanted to use a different word but don't to offend you <g>). They (the musicians, athletes, artists) do not affect livelihood of american people. I would throw out people like Barney Frank (who is finally retiring; thank God), or Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid with or without bath water <g>.
But my point is that even the good ones should be limited to terms; this will keep everybody more honest. I suggest you read (if you have time) the book Republic, Lost (Google for the author because I never can remember the spelling of last name).
