As I said, with my security suite running without those services, my computer runs very smoothly (the suite is Shaw Secure, by the way)

When was the last big update? Two Tuesdays ago? anyway, after that update I found out on the next Friday that my Firewall was re-enabled, and the update was the only change. It happened before, but the last time is when I could really blame the update for it was the only thing I'd run.
