Use MP3 and OGG and you'll be covered with all browsers.
And if you have a problem playing a WAV file on one OS, it's probably not the OS's fault.
WAV has a fairly loose specification, and people do funny things with it all the time.
So it's probably the fault of whatever software you used to create the WAV file.
You may want to try remaking it.
