And an unfortunate by-product of these laws is that we end up protecting stupid people from their own stupidity. Then they go find other stupid people and produce even stupider people - and costing all of us more money. I don't remember where I saw it, but it was a list of what it costs to put the warning labels, stickers, etc on products and the one thing I remember was it cost (at the time) about $2 for the "Do NOT Use in the Tub/Shower" sticker on a hair dryer. Do we really need to warn people about that? Or that hot coffee might be HOT?
