first, thanks again for everyones patience. here goes:

i have a main program that calls a 'intro' form. the intro form has 4 command buttons for:' Assignments Maintenance', 'Correspondence Maintenance',' Reports', and 'Exit'.

as soon as the intro form comes up the status line shows that it is using the 'Admin!Correspondence' table. there is nothing in the main program nor in the intro form code that sets this table.

if you click the 'Assignments' button it opens a pageframe containing 2 pages. page1 is an edit screen with editboxes and page 2 is a grid displaying table data. when page1 displays it is showing (dimmed) the first record from the Assignments table but the command buttons at the buttom do not function properly, nor does the status line show that it is accessing 'Admin!Assignments'. if you click on page2 it properly shows 'Admin!Assignments' data in the grid.

all of the other buttons on the intro form, (correspondence, reports and exit) all work properly. what is causing this?
