More baseball --

This is for Alan P. Alex Rios is tearing it up again today for the White Sox. They are losing late because a last minute substitute starter got shelled, but Rios continues to hammer the ball. A couple of nights ago Ken Harrelson said, "He's finally hitting like the guy who used to kill us when he was with the Blue Jays." It's the Blue Jays who are beating them today, if you didn't know. They sure hit a lot of homers.

You know one of my two favorite players is Tim Lincecum. He capped a disastrous first half (*) by getting creamed in Pittsburgh. I still think there has to be something wrong with him physically. You don't go from being one of the best pitchers in baseball to getting knocked around like Mr. Bill for no reason. I don't have any skin in the game, he's just a player I like. It's mystifying.

There is always good news in baseball. It's cool looking at the standings at the All Star break and seeing the Pirates in first place. They have been down for a really long time.
