>This is for Alan P. Alex Rios is tearing it up again today for the White Sox. They are losing late because a last minute substitute starter got shelled, but Rios continues to hammer the ball. A couple of nights ago Ken Harrelson said, "He's finally hitting like the guy who used to kill us when he was with the Blue Jays." It's the Blue Jays who are beating them today, if you didn't know. They sure hit a lot of homers.

If there is one thing the Jays are good at, it's the long ball. I think if they hadn't lost 3 of their starting 5 rotation in 4 days, they'd be in a far better position than they are today. And then of course, the main starter - Ricky Romero, pretty much fell apart around the same time. Talk about substitute starters!!

I know I'll probably get a lot of "Yeah, easy to jump on the bandwagon now", but I really was glad to see Colby Rasmus come to Toronto. I love watching him play baseball. He has a gorgeous swing, and they way he plays center field, like he's hunting the ball, is really something. He's been hitting well over .300 in the past couple of months. He hit a homer back a few games that hit the facing of the 5th deck in right. If he'd stayed with the Cards, he'd probably have ended up leaving baseball altogether. They worked very hard to destroy him. Took him a year to get his mojo back.

>You know one of my two favorite players is Tim Lincecum. He capped a disastrous first half (*) by getting creamed in Pittsburgh. I still think there has to be something wrong with him physically. You don't go from being one of the best pitchers in baseball to getting knocked around like Mr. Bill for no reason. I don't have any skin in the game, he's just a player I like. It's mystifying.

Could just be psyched out. Jays pitcher Ricky Romero isn't having any physical issues, but he's pretty much psyched himself out because of a couple of bad starts.

>There is always good news in baseball. It's cool looking at the standings at the All Star break and seeing the Pirates in first place. They have been down for a really long time.

Still the most beautiful game around.
