>>I disagree with you, John, and so does the evidence.
That's just a contradiction. As for evidence: I regard the Northern Ireland experience as evidence- including the need to keep armed soldiers and armored vehicles on the streets for many years, btw. If you have evidence that the Koran is pushing Canada down a similar path to this conflict, reveal it. Otherwise it's just the sort of prejudice that leads to disaffection in which extremism can thrive. One thing you can say is that Muslims are very proud of who they are, so systematic demonization seems likely to create a rod for your own back.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
