>>While this has solved the problem of getting access to the Linux filesystem, I am left with a bit of a hack in terms of sending commands back to Linux. My implementation now involves sending one or more commands in a text file, then having a shell script on the Linux side check for the file's existence, execute the script, then delete it. This is managed by a script which in turn is run as a recurring cron job. It works fine, except that there can be up to a minute delay in waiting for cron to cycle. I would like to do something a bit more direct, such as running telnet from VFP, in order to make the command execute at will. I saw nothing in Rick's wwIP tools that would facilitate this.

Sounds good, but I don't now how to do either of those things. Can you point me in the direction of some references so that I can get a better feel for what you are suggesting? If not, that's OK, as this is just an internal app, and I appreciate what you have done already.
