>I guees iut's just weid that it can't handle a post-back where the From/To contains and integer value, and you just would just resolve it into the corresponding person on the back end.
It is the same everywhere on the site. Whereelse we enter a value, either a character or a numeric, we have to hit enter. I didn't introduce anything new with that option. However, other super sites with dedicated servers on such operation can support it such as Facebook and Google. I just cannot handle that with one server. As when you type, you expect to have the result right away. In that case, you need a dedicated support for that as you would need a round trip in a fraction of a second, thus targeting one infrastructure just for that which wouldn't be affected by other support which would require, sometimes, a longer process such as the search, the retrieval of a bunch of messages and so on.
>Plus, why the two-year limit at all? Is it an effort to limit the bandwidth of send back too many results?
It is just a default. This can be change how you access the form. A note has been taken on that to increase to four years. But, there hasn't been any upgrade since the beginning of the year so there are a bunch of pending changes. As far as the restriction, it is also for performance issues. It is targeting to provide a response time to the average search type a user is doing. If I would increase too much the time period, this would create longer search result time where most of the time, this wouldn't be needed.
>How about an area where we could click on "My Posts" and "My Replies", and when you go there, if would just show you a list of your most recent Posts and Replies. This is a very common paradigm used on mother message boards.
You can get that from your account. You may click on Profile. There is also a note on upcoming flexibility on that.
